I have finally made it to Lava Java. We've spent a lot of time here in the past, but hadn't made it down this year. Amanda decided she wanted to do a bit of shopping, so I left her downtown, and came up here to grab a delicious smoothie. It's great to sit here in the evenings, as the view is just about perfect. The ocean is right across the street, and with the exeception of a few odd triathletes running by in their speedos and commpression socks, the view is unobstructed.

We've got about twenty more minutes before the sun sets. Right about now I'm regretting not bringing my camera.

Ah, another day in paradise, and another day closer to race day!

Thanks for checking in.

Hey Michael! Amanda said to send you good energy--so i'm sending you some from San Diego and i'm keeping the energy "winds" to a minimum! You'll rock!

Michael, best of luck in Kona. I'll be watching from Ohio where things are getting wet and cold.

Don't forget to give us a little jig after the finish line.

Congratulations Michael: after watching the footage from Coeur d'Alene that aired last weekend, you have the dubious honor of being my new favorite triathlete. I'm going to a Kona-viewing party tomorrow where I'll be cheering you on. Have a great race!

Are you saying odd triathletes because of the speedo and compression socks? or just because they were odd? I honestly think that the compression socks are odd looking too and running in a speedo couldn't be more uncomfortable (shaffing... uhh). Do you know if those socks really work?
